Acquired by the parents of the present owner in the early 1980s
Marion Hooper Tait was Principle Ballerina, Ballet Mistress and then Assistant Director with Birmingham Royal Ballet. She was the Evening Standard 'Dancer of the Year' in 1994. Merrifield sculpted many of the world’s most famous dancers, including Sir Anthony Dowell, Ivan Nagy and Wayne Sleep as well as Olympic Skater John Curry.
Rich brown patina. Some light surface dust. Very good original condition.
