Acquired by the parents of the present owner in the early 1980s

Kenn Wells joined London Festival Ballet in 1971, where he became Principal Artist and acclaimed for a range of roles including Mercutio in Nureyev's production of Romeo and Juliet and when working with and dancing Massine's roles in Le Tricorne, Gaité Parisienne and Parade. In 1981 he debuted as Skimbleshanks in the Andrew Lloyd Weber musical Cats in London's West End. Merrifield sculpted many of the world’s most famous dancers, including Sir Anthony Dowell, Ivan Nagy and Wayne Sleep as well as Olympic Skater John Curry.



Rich brown patina. Some light surface dust. Very good original condition.
